Leviton’s Network Solutions Business claims neutrality… for carbon

June 4, 2024  By  Anthony Capkun

June 4, 2024 – Leviton reports its Network Solutions Business—manufacturer of copper and fiber cabling systems—has achieved carbon neutrality, inclusive of Scopes 1 and 2, and select Scope 3, emissions.

“Now that Network Solutions [Leviton NS] achieved carbon neutrality two years earlier than planned, we are more excited than ever to achieve carbon neutrality company-wide by 2030,” said Ross Goldman, chief sustainability officer.

This milestone was reached with Leviton’s sustainability consultancy, Sphera, which measured Leviton’s global carbon footprint and, through analysis, identified areas of potential improvement.

Leviton NS then went on to reduce its carbon emissions by 55%, mainly through investment, including the transition to clean energy providers for some its largest manufacturing facilities, and investing in onsite solar power at its Glenrothes, Scotland facility.

The business unit also invested in clean energy-focused carbon offset projects. In so doing, it allows Leviton to invest in energy projects that remove or prevent an equivalent amount of carbon from entering the atmosphere.

Leviton Manufacturing of Canada ULC achieved carbon neutrality in 2023.
