ABB marks a “significant stride” with ReliaHome residential energy management platform
June 4, 2024 By Anthony Capkun
June 4, 2024 – Building on its investment in Lumin to bring new smart and sustainable technologies to homes in North America, ABB launched the ReliaHome Smart Panel—its first residential energy management software platform in Canada and the United States.
“This latest collaboration marks a significant stride in ABB’s focus on the residential sector,” said Adam Mease, ABB Electrification Smart Buildings Division. “We’re committed to accelerating the energy transition through innovation and the evolution of traditional home electrical distribution […]”
In collaboration with Lumin, the ReliaHome offering promises convenience and an enhanced customer experience to save energy “through an accessible, user-friendly product”.
The ReliaHome Smart Panel empowers homeowners to take control of their energy use by providing insights for saving energy and costs. For example, users can prioritize appliances during an outage to extend battery storage run-time, or optimize circuits to avoid paying peak electricity rates.
The panel is universally compatible with third-party devices, such as batteries, solar inverters, electric vehicle chargers and standby generators, providing simplified stock and inventory management.
The pre-wired panel is suitable for new and retrofit installations and integrates with all load centres, enabling energy optimization, circuit scheduling, and real-time control in one package.
